Normally you can get a fairly precise result from a home pregnancy test within a fourteen days after you’ve received your fertility treatment but the majority of clinics will run the tests on your behalf. You would be wise to bear in mind that there’s always a possibility of a test showing a false positive result if it is carried out before this time.
If you are unsure, then there are physical signs of being pregnant for instance: feeling sick, using the bathroom more frequently, lack of menstrual cycle, mood shifts, weariness and finer sense of smell and taste.

A few clinics will want to remain in touch during the early weeks of pregnancy and do one or more ultrasound scans to make sure your baby is growing normally. Some fertility clinics that do not continue supporting you after their part of the agreement is complete so separate arrangements will have to be made to look after your pregnancy and birth care.
If your fertility treatment is successful, don’t be worried if you are not as happy as you thought you would be as it can take a short while to adjust. The feelings a woman goes through are normal for many women when they discover they are going to have a baby, irrespective of whether they became pregnant naturally or via fertility treatment.
In reality, your pregnancy probably won’t be any more difficult than someone who hasn’t gone through fertility treatment although you may find it more emotionally unsettling. Often, it may be necessary to have extra scans at the hospital. This might be because they have had previous problems like miscarrying for example, or, owing to their general health. One of the most important reasons is when the expectant mother is older because as your age increases the more likely it is that troubles will occur.
Over a million babies around the world have been born as a result of aided conception treatment such as IVF and the chances are you will give bear a healthy baby. This does not mean there will not be any problems because every medical treatment and every pregnancy carry some risk, even those conceived through normal means, but thankfully nearly all of the problems are tiny. For the most part you should try to enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can and relax even though it’s not that simple.
Unfortunately the amount of miscarriages after employing IVF is higher those for normal conception. There are two main reasons for this: the first being that almost all women that have fertility treatment experience a pregnancy test in the early days of the pregnancy. Alternatively a woman who has become pregnant by the natural route may think she has had a late period but has in fact created an embryo that failed to implant. Secondly, the risk of miscarriage rises with the mothers age because women who receive fertility treatment are, more often than not, older than those who conceive naturally. This subject always raises many questions but they would be best answered by your own fertility clinic gynecologist.
